Nutritional Medicine Clinic

Under the direction of Dr. Gil Yosef Shahar (M.D.)

About the clinic treatment program:

At the bottom of this page you will find the details for setting an appointment. Please read this page through before calling or filling in the form, this will  save time for you as well as for us.

We offer treatments via Zoom, for treatments anywhere around the world

:Our Credo

We believe that medical treatment is not a “button” you press on. Recovering from a chronic disease or difficult medical condition is a journey. In most cases, this is a process requiring a custom made treatment, personal guidance and support. For this reason we have built a treatment  model that includes a support system that continues even after the consultation meeting. Our experience has shown us that many cases require modifications as the treatment progresses – more tests are needed, different nutritional supplements to be tried, etc. This is why the continued accompaniment and support from the clinic are an integral part of the treatment. It is important that every patient at our clinic knows that he or she is about to begin a process.

:Our Team

Dr. (med) Gil Yossef Shahar,  clinic director.

Our staff is made up of the excelling graduates of the Rambam Medicine Institute’s training programme, specializing in nutritional medicine, all of which have personally interned with Dr. Shachar.

The staff has been meticulously chosen from over 1,500 graduates, after having gone through countless interviews and exams, and have learned and share Dr. Shachar’s approach and methods.

Dr. Shahar personally supervises the staff’s treatments and progress, providing consultation and intervening when needed.

We are very proud of our many medical nutrition program graduates, who have gone on to open and run their own clinics. Having said that,  the graduates in our staff are the only ones who have interned personally with Dr. Shahar and treat under his close supervision.

Our treatment package, initial meeting and accompaniment

The full treatment package includes a 2 and a half hour long meeting, plus over-the-phone accompaniment and guidance, over the course of 3 months.

The frequency of these phone calls will be higher during the first month – once a week – and will gradually go down to once every two weeks during the second and third months.

Our goal is to help our clients gain independence, while staying involved, reacting to developments and modifying the treatment program as needed.

In addition, you will receive the email address and cell phone number of your personal clinician, and are welcome to be in touch in between these phone calls if needed.

The initial meeting can be held in-person at one of our clinic branches, or via Zoom.

?What happens during the initial meeting

During the initial meeting, we will ask you questions about your current medical state, your medical history, nutrition, daily routine, habits and constraints, medication you may be on, dietary supplements, physical and emotional challenges you may encounter, as well as a thorough examination of your blood tests and any other relevant documents.

You will leave the meeting with a preliminary treatment program that is tailor made to your needs, taking your daily routine and constraints into account. Our goal is for you to succeed, so we plan the program according to your personal pace. Don’t worry – we don’t turn everyone into vegans who live solely on sprouts! The program’s goal is to help you get on track for a healthy lifestyle you can actually maintain, free of disease and tailor made to your own needs and considerations.

?What happens after the first meeting

Once you’ve had your initial meeting, the correspondence and accompaniment continue over the phone. Your clinician, the same one you met and spoke with at the initial meeting,  will be guiding you every step of the way.

The goal of these calls is to understand how much of the program’s instructions you were able to follow, if you’ve encountered challenges or difficulties, if you feel a change in your condition. According to your answers and development, your accompanying clinician will make changes and adjustments to the treatment as needed.

During the first month, the frequency of these phone calls will be on a once a week basis. This is an intensely accompanied month, because we want to get you on the most precise treatment for your needs as soon as possible.

In the two following months, the frequency is lowered to once every two weeks, in order to continue adjusting and reacting to any developments.

If you should have any inquiries in between phone meetings, your clinician is available to you via email or whatsapp.

For the final meeting, you and your clinician will summarize the three month treatment, and you will receive instructions to implement on a routine basis.

What if I can’t follow through on the treatment plan I am assigned

What if I find the diet created for me too extreme

No need to worry.

Each plan is built individually and together with the patient, taking all factors in mind: your medical condition, mental and emotional status, daily routine, personal  preferences and any other factors you wish to take into account.

Naturally, people’s approach to change varies. Some patient’s nature is to make extreme changes all at once, while others prefer implementing them gradually over time.

There is no need to worry about not adapting to the dietary plan, as we can proceed at your personal pace, in small steps if needed, taking your constraints and daily routine into account.

Our goal is to create a treatment plan that you can maintain through your day to day life.

You will be accompanied by your personal clinician every step of the way, who will find a solution to any obstacle you may encounter. We are in this together.

It is important to note though, there are no 100%  guarantees in the medical world. When it comes to health and medicine, we cannot guarantee a certain result or cure, but we can promise to do everything in our power to help you help yourself recover.

Our experience has proven that patients who stick to the treatment and guidance plan and trust in the process, see dramatic changes in their health and in many cases even experience a full recovery.

Our clinic’s unique advantage

Our clinic staff works as a team.

This means all our clinicians, as well as Dr. Shachar, work together and discuss each patient’s case, building each treatment plan with the widest range of medical expertise and experience the clinic, as a whole, has to offer.

In more complicated cases, the entire staff, including Dr. Shachar, hold regular meetings to discuss and brainstorm. The fact that the whole clinic staff reads relevant articles and medical literature on your condition or disease, researches for the best supplements and plants to improve your condition and shares ideas and thoughts, is many times what makes all the difference in creating the best treatment plan for each patient’s needs.

?How is our clinic different from other clinics
